48 Hour Film Race Kick-Off Event

48 Hour Film Race Kick-Off Event

Can you make a movie – write, film, and edit – in only 48 hours? Are you eager for an exciting and creative challenge?

Hosted by the University of Kentucky Libraries and the Media Depot, the "48 Hour Film Race" invites students to make a short film with assigned film elements – genre, character, prop, and a line of dialogue – all drawn from a hat over one weekend.

On Monday night, the film is turned in. The following Friday, the UK Campus community is invited to join us for a movie night with popcorn and candy for our "48 Hour Film Race Screening & Award Ceremony." Film Race participant's films will be screened in front of an audience of fellow filmmakers, friends, and families. Superlative awards will be given, and the "Best Film" winner will be announced.

The registration check-in and kick-off meeting will be held in the Media Depot in the basement of the William T. Young Library on Friday, March 22 at 6:00 pm. All participating students must be in attendance.
